Corby Safe Rides
As a leading manufacturer and distributor of spirits and wines in Canada, Corby Spirit and Wines has a responsibility to encourage and educate everyone on the importance of safe and responsible consumption.
Since 2013, Corby has partnered with North America’s third largest transit system, the Toronto Transit Commission (TTC), to provide free, safe rides for all Torontonians on New Year’s Eve to ensure no one has an excuse to drink and drive.
Starting December 31, 2023 after 7 p.m., all TTC streetcars, buses and subways will be free of charge until 8 a.m. on January 1, 2024.
The partnership with the TTC has expanded even further throughout the years. In 2018 and 2019, Jameson Irish Whiskey, represented in Canada by Corby, sponsored the busy King and Queen streetcar lines in Toronto on St. Patrick’s Day. This initiative provided yet another safe ride home experience for Torontonians after a night of celebration. In 2022, Polar Ice Vodka, brought Toronto Blue Jays™ fans together by offering complimentary streetcar rides to help them travel to and from their game-day activities.
To date, Corby Safe Rides has provided more than 2.6 million free rides to people celebrating New Year’s Eve and transit ridership on this night has increased by 18%.
